Birthday gifts for under $5.00

The little make-up bag was made with material I already had. It is just a simple rectangle with a zipper and some embellishments. We added some shiny lip gloss and a few clips to complete the present.

The next two gifts are a notebook covered with scrap book paper and then a matching pencil case with colored pencils. The rectangle pencil case I found for 50 cents and added some paper trim. And the round case is a Crystal light container, that I added paper to as well.

Busy, Busy, Busy.....

So this week I have been really busy. Here are a few of the things that have had me tied up. I made a cake for the relief society Birthday Celebration, then I made a purse for my daughter's friends Birthday party, and started a re-upholstery project, for the Snapdragon Inn.

Ahh the little pleasures of life....

Hot Chocolate and pancakes for dinner. It was snowing all day and we had a big lunch, a little late, because we had church in the morning. So something warm and easy was needed. Yum!

Beautiful Day!

So we actually got up to 40 degrees today, the snow was melting, the sky was blue and the sun was out. Austyn and I just couldn't resist it, we had to get out and slash in some puddles. So we walked Buddy, our 6 month old Golden Retriever to Grandma's house, and Jd and the other kids drove the truck. It is probably a 1/2 mile or so to her house. It was so nice to out and not freezing. We had a great walk and had some cake when we got there, yum. Jd walked Buddy home. I can almost see the light at the end of the winter tunnel in New England. I am trying not to get my hopes up though because it is only February and we still have at least March to get through, before it is really nice out.

SNOW DAY!

There is no school today, because we are expected to get up to 18 inches of snow today. So all the kids are home, but Jordan's parents moved here and they are taking a day with each of the family's to have their kids, and today is our day. So I will finally be able to finish my book, and do some projects, yay! Thank goodness for Grandparents! And the snow is great too, especially since it has to be at least 30 degrees to snow, which means we are out of the single didgets.
